Praised by UK music and film magazine No Ripcord, as “the bastard stepchild of Jackson Browne & David Bowie,” singer-songwriter Neil Nathan has made an art form of joyfully schizophrenic record making. The multi-faceted New Yorker jumps seamlessly from genre to genre (blistering rock to gentle acoustic folk) and records in different cities (Philadelphia, Atlanta, Detroit) that suit his latest creative fancies.
Neil's Debut LP, ‘The Distance Calls,’ was produced by Detroit Garage Rock Hero Bobby Harlow w/ musicians from Queens of the Stone Age, The Go, King Tuff, & Detroit Cobras. The album’s track “California Run." featured a music video guest starring actress Rosario Dawson.
Neil is currently mixing his new LP in Philly w/ Mike 'Slo-Mo' Brenner (Marah, Jason Molina) and Peter Rydberg (1935 Studio); the same team that produced Do Ya, still in regular rotation on Sirius/XM's The Coffeehouse. Neil's songs have been on Showtime's Californication, ESPN, NHL Network, and the film Return (Michael Shannon).
